As a personal trainer, I can not begin to tell you how many times customers have come to me, distressed by the number you are when you are at your scale. The truth is that I do not know anyone who likes to get a scale. So no. Scales, used by themselves are not an accurate assessment of their percentage of body fat.

Most people who are trying to lose weight often feel frustrated by the number shown on the scale. As a personal trainer use the scale as a tool for determining the fat mass of the individual. Multiplying a person's body fat percentage measured by weight on the scale easily achieves this. The number of fat mass is then subtracted from their weight, which allows individuals in lean mass that is muscle, water, and the body's internal organs. For example, two women who are 5'6 and weighs 135 pounds can be very different, even to the point of being opposites. One could have a percentage of body fat 33%, while the other might have a rate of only 22%. What is important, however, is that one must realize that the weight of the scale may be influenced by many different factors.

A person who weighs 140 pounds, and eat dinner from a high salt content in the night before it could be shown in a weight scale which is higher than its actual weight, 2 to 5 pounds. This could be the result of water retention of the salt of the meal the night before. The salt has the effect of retaining water at the cellular level in our bodies. Other factors may also influence the weight of our body, including water retention, dehydration, recent illness, and pregnancy.

Individuals weighing more significant decrease in the scale are people who are obese. In general, as the percentage of body fat to get the men, 10% indicated very low and lean, 11-15% indicates a poor person, the average is 16-20% and 20% and higher is considered obese. For women, the following percentages used are as follows: 20% and under indicates a very lean individual, 21% -25% indicates a poor person, 26% -34% is average, and 34% and higher is considered obese.

A qualified personal trainer can check your body fat percentage with a tape measure and a clip of skin, and is able to accurately calculate your fat mass. An objective realistic for most people is to lose 3% body fat in 4-6 weeks. This is done without hunger the body, and is a rigorous exercise program. Although most of people will be able to lose fat percentage, it will be easier for people with higher percentages of body fat to do so.

Besides lose body fat, individuals may notice an increase in weight in the number on the scale of weight after starting a training program. This is perfectly natural after starting a weight training program. As the body begins to build muscle, lose fat and at the same time, the large muscle mass may weigh more The mass of fat that the body has lost. Again, a qualified personal trainer can accurately measure your body fat, plus a weight of its mass on a scale and give you the percentage of fat and muscle. Once your body has a certain percentage, you can move forward with a fitness plan and a set of objectives.
